Denis O'Connor

Voilà presque un mois que je n'ai pas posté de nouveau message, et j'aurai aimé ne pas avoir à reprendre la rédaction de ce blog par une mauvaise nouvelle.

Malheureusement, notre ami Denis O'connor est décédé la nuit dernière en Angleterre. Son coeur et ses reins ont laché.

Denis était un fidèle, toujours au rendez-vous du mois de juin en Normandie, accompagné de sa fille Jane et de Richard, pour retrouver ses camarades du 8ème bataillon et des autres unités. Je me souviendrai longtemps de lui, de son humour exceptionnel et son extrême générosité.
Il a maintenant retrouvé ceux qui l'ont précédé : James Hill, Alastair Pearson, Allen McKell et tant d'autres et je suis certain que c'est avec une pinte à la main qu'ils nous observent de là où ils sont.

It's been nearly a month that I have not post any message on this board, and i would have prefered to come back with a good news.

Sadly, our friend Denis O'Connor passed away last night in England. His heart and kidneys failed.

Denis was faithful to the Normandy rendez-vous every june, where he came every year with his daughter Jane and Richard, to met his comrades from the 8th Bn and others units of the parachute regiment. I will remember him for a long long time, with his exceptional humour and extraordinary generosity.
He has now find the ones who preceded him : James Hill, Alastair Pearson, Allen McKell and so many others, and I am sure that they are looking after us with a good pint in the hand from where they are.

We will remember him.
