Programme du 65ème anniversaire/65th aniversary program

Dans moins de 3 semaines les cérémonies du souvenir pour le 65ème anniversaire du Débarquement de Normandie auront commencé.
Elles débuteront le 5 juin au matin et se termineront le 8 juin. Pour beaucoup de vétérans ce sera certainement le dernier voyage sur les lieux qui ont marqué leurs vies à jamais. C'est donc l'occasion ou jamais de venir les rencontrer pour les remercier une nouvelle fois du sacrifice que leurs compagnons et eux-mêmes ont fait en 1944.

In less than 3 week, the comemorations for the 65th aniversary of D-Day will have started already.
They will begin ont june 5th and will close on june 8th. For many veterans it will certainly be their last journey to the landscapes that marked their lifes forever. It is a great opportunity to come and met them for a last thanks for the sacrifice them and their comrades made in 1944.

Pour ce 65ème anniversaire c'est un programme presque aussi important que celui du 60ème qui a été préparé.

For this 65th aniversary, the program is almost important than the 60th aniversary program.

Vendredi 5 Juin

Ranville
      8h45 : Largage de 10 parachutistes du 3ème Bataillon de Parachutistes Britanniques sur la Drop Zone N.
Bavent - Carrefour du Mesnil
      10h00 : Service du Souvenir et dépôt de gerbes au Mémorial de la 3ème Brigade Parachutiste et au Mémorial du 1er Bataillon Canadien de Parachutistes.
Ranville - Mémorial Pegasus
      11h30 : Dépot de gerbe à la statue du Brigadier James Hill.
      12h00 : Cérémonie sur le pont d'origine dans les jardins du musée.
Bures sur Dives
      17h30 : Dépôt de gerbe au monument Captain Juckes - 3ème escadron de Parachutistes du Génie Britannique.
Troarn
      18h30 : Service religieux de l'amitié Franco-Britannique à l'église.
      19h15 : Dépôt de gerbe au Monument aux morts.

Friday 5th June

Ranville
   8:45am : Drop of 100 of paratroopers from the 3rd Parachute Battalion on DZ N.
Bavent - Le Mesnil crossroads
   10:00am : Rememberance Service and wreath laying at the 3rd Parachute Brigade memorial and 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion.
Ranville - Pegasus Memorial Museum
   11:30am : Wreath laying at Brigadier James Hill's statue.
      12:00 : Wreath laying at the original bridge in the memorial's garden.
Bures sur Dives
   5:30pm : Wreath laying at the Captain Juckes memorial, 3rd Parachute Squadron Royal Engineers.
Troarn
   6:30pm : Service to the French/British Friendship at the church.
   7:15pm : Wreath Laying at the War Memorial.

Samedi 6 Juin

Ranville
      9h30 : Accueil des vétérans par le Maire et dépôt de gerbe à la plaque du 13ème Bataillon de Parachutistes Britanniques.
      10h00 : Messe.
      11h00 : Service du souvenir au cimetière militaire.
Touffreville
      16h00 : Dépôt de gerbes au Mémorial du 8ème Bataillon de Parachutistes Britanniques et au Mémorial du Brigadier Alastair Pearson. Dépôt de gerbe à la stèle Billington & Platt. Dépôt de gerbe sur la tombe du Cpl O'Sullivan.
Sannerville
      20h00 : Bal avec l'orchestre Emilio Corfa.
      22h30 : Retraite aux flambeaux.
      23h00 : Grand feu d'artifice.

Saturday 6th June

Ranville
   9:30am : Welcome to the veterans by the Mayor, wreath laying at the 13th Parachute Battalion Memorial.
   10:00am : Mass.
   11:00am : Rememberance Service and wreath laying at Ranville War Cemetery.
Touffreville
   4:00pm : Wreath laying at the 8th Parachute Battalion Memorial and Brigadier Alastair Pearson Memorial. Wreath laying at the Platt & Billington cairn. Wreath laying at Cpl O'Sullivan's grave.
Sannerville
   8:00pm : Dance with Emilio Corfa's orchestra.
   10:30pm : March with torches.
   11:00pm : Fireworks

Dimanche 7 Juin

Sannerville - Place de Bambins (ou église en cas de mauvais temps)
      10h00 : Concert de la Paix par la Musique Principale de l'Armée de Terre Allemande.
      12h00 : Cérémonie internationale (France-Grande Bretagne-Allemagne), inauguration d'une plaque en présence des armées allemandes et britaniques.
      14h30 : Prestation du Battle of Britain Memorial Flight de la Royal Air Force avec des avions d'époque : chasseurs Spitfire & Hurricane et bombardier lourd Lancaster.
      15h00 : Défilé jusqu'au mémorial de la 3ème Division d'Infanterie Britannique, prise d'armes présidée par le Général commandant la 3ème Division Britannique, service du souvenir et dépôt de gerbes, défilé jusqu'au cimetière de Banneville.
Banneville la Campagne
      16h15 : Cérémonie du souvenir. Invité d'honneur, le Lt-Colonel Simon Owen des Gardes Irlandais de sa Majesté, en présence du Commandant de la 3ème Division Britannique. Dépôt de gerbes et fleurissement des tombes par les enfants des écoles de Sannerville, Troarn, Touffreville, Cagny.
                  Passage d'un VC10 du 101ème escadron de la Royal Air Force.

Sunday 7th June

Sannerville
   10:00am : Concert of Peace by the German Army Band.
   12:00am : French-British-German international ceremony. Unveiling of a new plaque in the presence of british and german forces.
      2:30pm : Flying pass from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight of the Royal Air Force with Spitfires, Hurricane and Lancester bomber.
      3:00pm : March to the 3rd British Infantry Division. Rememberance service and wreath laying presided by the General commanding the 3rd (U.K.) Division. March to Banneville War Cemetery.
Banneville la Campagne
   4:15pm : Rememberance ceremony. Guest of honor, Lt-Colonel Simon Owen from H.M. Irish Guards, in the presence of the Genaral commanding the 3rd (U.K.) Division. Wreath laying, and laying of flower on the graves by school children from Sannerville, Troarn, Touffreville, Cagny. Flying pass of a VC10 from 101st Squadron (Royal Air Force).
